If you’re looking for something to do this coming Saturday, October 6- and the weather here in New York City should be fabulous for it- check out GreenHomeNYC’s Green Buildings Open House. The organization is offering bus, bike, and walking tours in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx (though the East Village walking and Brooklyn bike tours are sold out) of some great, green New York City buildings, including the Bronx Library Center, 140-142 West 4th Street, and 179 Rivington Street, with an afterparty at the Habana Outpost in Brooklyn beginning at 2PM. No matter which borough you choose, each of the tours looks to be both fun and instructive, as well as a testament to just how far along sustainable building practices have progressed in the Big Apple.
