Walking Tour: Melrose Commons

Date/Time:
July 29, 2009 - 4:00pm - 6:00pm

AIA Continuing Education Credit: HSW/SD 1.0

Please join Petr Strand, Principal of Magnusson Architecture and Planning PC, as he leads an enlightening walking tour of Melrose Commons in the South Bronx.

Devastated by years of neglect, this area is currently participating in the LEED for Neighborhood Development pilot program. It is one of the only low-income urban renewal areas in the program, which involves over 240 projects across the country. This tour is a unique opportunity to learn about the challenges of sustainable design for communities and affordable housing.

The tour will cover a fair amount of ground; please wear comfortable walking shoes.
