Next Tuesday, February 20, from 1:00 to 2:30PM EST, the American Bar Association will hold a teleconference and live audio webcast addressing a variety of green building issues. What's particularly noteworthy is that this appears to be the first forum of its kind offered by the ABA that will discuss the various legal and risk management issues which are implicated by sustainable design. Called "Sustainable Development and Green Building Basics: Certification, Incentives, and Your Practice," the teleconference will, among other topics, "[e]valuate the legal and practical implications of governance and design controls in new urbanist communities," and "[a]nalyze the practical impact of regulatory agreements and design guidelines." This teleconference should be extremely interesting if, like me, you're intrigued by the risk management aspects of sustainable building. Futher information and registration options are available through the link above.
