gbNYC’s mission is to explore the intersection of legal issues and green business, with particular emphasis on the LEED green building rating system and sustainable construction. It mostly profiles specific green projects in the New York City metropolitan area in order to discuss green building issues generally, but also presents at least one post per week that focuses on broader legal and business implications for sustainable business, ranging from green building regulatory schemes to clean energy regulations.
I have been maintaining gbNYC in earnest since October of 2006. I am a real estate and construction attorney admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey, as well as a LEED Accredited Professional; I was one of the first ten attorneys in the country to earn the LEED-AP designation. Prior to attending law school at William & Mary, I worked as a project manager and superintendent for one of New York City’s largest construction companies on several high-profile projects, including Five Times Square and pre-construction services for the New York Times Tower. I hold an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Columbia and currently practice law within a construction group at a full-service firm in Manhattan.
My practice focuses exclusively on assisting clients in the design, construction, and real estate industries on matters ranging from construction contract and corporate document drafting to real estate transactions, commercial leases, litigation, and other construction-related issues. Previously I practiced with a boutique Manhattan construction law firm where I primarily defended architects and engineers against claims for professional malpractice.
