Building Design + Construction magazine’s fifth green building White Paper is now available for download. We commented on last year’s edition- Green Building and the Bottom Line- in a series of posts, discussing restaurants, retail, office buildings, hotels, and professional liability issues for architects and engineers as presented in the White Paper. The 2007 installment details the results of twelve specific research studies performed by BD+C of owners, facility managers, end users, and A/E/C professionals. The key questions that this White Paper seeks to answer include whether the industry believes there to be a premium for green construction, whether it perceives health and productivity benefits to tenants over conventional buildings, and how much of a premium owners are willing to pay for different types of green facilities. BD+C has done a great job presenting comprehensive information about green building in these White Papers, and we’ll be similarly digesting its latest work here at gbNYC before offering up our general thoughts on the green movement’s progress over the past year in relation to BD+C’s findings.
