Upper Green Side Set to Launch Chapter on West Side

Do you live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan? Do you care about environmental issues in our community? If so, Upper Green Side is expanding to our side of Central Park and is looking for new members interested in volunteering and working together on environmental issues of local importance. Our first meeting will take place on Monday, May 7th in the downstairs area of the Cosi on 76th and Broadway at 7PM.

Upper Green Side is a neighborhood environmental group that was formed in February of 2006 and now has over 100 members. It successfully fought for the siting and expansion of two Upper East Side green markets and aims to educate citizens on issues ranging from energy efficiency, alternative transportation, sustainable food, and waste reduction and recycling. It’s a great group of people and we’re really excited about the potential for a chapter on the UWS. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions- hope to see you on May 7th!
