A Green Tower in Moscow
Thanks to Manola Carter for this link to an article about Foster and Partners' new tower for CTT Group in Moscow. The mixed-use project - incorporating apartments, hotel, office and leisure space - will have an ‘energy cycle’ that will help promote sustainable design globally. As rendered, the building reminds me of the Freedom Tower, negotiations over which are proceeding as we speak. It seem like the Port Authority will take over control over its construction, which is a disaster waiting to happen for a variety of reasons. More on this in the days to come. Apologies for the slow updates lately. Work, of course, has gotten in the way.

Moscow, green?? The capital
Moscow, green?? The capital of the gas/oil pumping, trees slashing, ocean and lakes polluting, take all you can from the earth and sell, country?? (Sounds a lot like many other countries, I know). This maybe a first step, but Russia and other former Soviet Union Republics have a long way to go before even acknowledging that their actions are contributing to environmental destruction.
